Call For Artists: Student Art Talent Contest 2013

I am honored to be this year’s juror for the
2013 Student Art Talent Contest
sponsored by The Native Daughters of the Golden West

Here’s a brief description of the contest, taken from their prospectus:

 

Purpose

To encourage the creativity of our youth and interest in the landmarks, history and natural wonders of the State of California.

The contest is open to all students in grades 9 through 12 in any school in California. Enrollment in an art class is not required.

(For students outside of San Benito County, please enter via your local parlor.)

 

Subjects

An original depiction of California native plants and/or wild life, or an event or people that are part of California history or a California landmark are acceptable.

The subject may be anywhere in California. All artworks must have been created by the student within two years prior to the contest deadline.

The artwork must be accompanied by an entry form that includes a brief description of the subject and the reason it is a significant landmark, event, period or person in California’s history or why it is a significant native plant, animal or natural wonder of the State of California.
