On A Good Note

I started this painting in July of last year, full of passion and hope. Unfortunlately like a dud firecracker, my passion fizzled out and I lost interest. And though I tried to fire it up it a few times over the past six months, I just couldn’t keep it lit.

At one point, I even considered throwing it out, or painting over it. But I refrained. I had a feeling that if I waited long enough, I’d fall in love again.

Yesterday, I was ready to tackle it again. I was just about to change the background to a deep red, when I heard in my mind’s ear… Purple!

So I  changed the background from indigo to carbazole violet, and we were both happy again.  (It’s a bit more purple in person than it is in this pic.)

I signed it and set us both free.

I’m so glad we ended on a good note!

Way to go, teach!!! You are such an amazing artist; when I don’t get depressed by everyone else being so far ahead of me, it actually inspires me, so thanks! I began my first painting for the new year today; got the first statement done & feel really good about it. Thank you for being there in the back of my mind, egging me on!
