In my last post, I started a colorful series of mini pear paintings in a acrylic.
Today, I completed a second statement (draft). This time I painted in oil over the acrylic. (You can paint oil over acrylic, but it’s not a good idea to paint acrylic over oil, unless you want your paintings to crack later.)

Pears… In… Spaaace !
As I was painting, I recognized that all of the pears were floating. I could have grounded them by adding shadows and darker areas underneath the pears but I just couldn’t bring myself to bring them down to earth. I laughed and thought of the old Muppet Show segments… Pigs In Space.
Here’s a clip from one of the episodes:
I should be able to finish these next time I work on them, and I just may leave them floating…
Stay tuned…

Have an idea. They would look great connected to eachother somehow in a verticle, all six of them. Perhaps connect them with copper or wire..
Oh Janet very cool! I was thinking the same thing as far as connecting them. I’m not going to connect the originals but I am going to play with many designs in photoshop when they are done. I’m creating several versions…verticle, horizontal and quilt like. :O) And offer them as prints…

You made me laugh, I’d forgotten how much fun the Muppets were. Sounds like you’re going to have heaps of fun playing with the designs.
