New Song: Limbo

Feels like I’m heading in a new direction. I’m not sure who I am channeling but I’m grateful for the muse. On this one I’m playing the guitar in a modified clawhammer style. I look forward to developing this technique.

I got some help “in the real world” too. I finished this song a couple of days ago and sent it to songwriter Jason Shepherd for feedback. Shepherd liked it, and thought it could be made even stronger by shortening the refrain from 4 “Limbos” to 2, and stretching out the measures.  I played around with it for a couple of days and oh what a difference! It really made the song more powerful. Thanks, Jason!

This one’s about letting go…. have a listen…

Limbo

Bending over backwards

You lined up for the dance

One foot on the brake

And the other on the gas

Limbo Limbo

You’ll never move if you can’t let go

Looking for answers

But tied up in a trance

Bucking and shaking

You are going nowhere fast

Limbo Limbo

You’ll never move if you can’t let go

Resume Mother may

Send the perfect job today

Lowering the bar didn’t get you very far

You only gave you brand new scars

You’re stuck on fair but that’s a snare

I know you don’t want to move, but you’re here to be there

Limbo Limbo Limbo Limbo

You’ll never move if you can’t let go
