Mini Series at San Juan Oaks Golf Club

posted in: Art 4

I’ve a running start on my series of miniature paintings depicting the holes at San Juan Oaks Golf Club. As they like to say over there “It’s always a great day at San Juan Oaks.”

These little gems are tiny. Quite a change for someone who paints everything larger than life. I don’t usually wear glasses when I paint but I had to get out the readers for these!

Here’s the cart path at hole #13, The Chute. Yes the cart path! I can’t tell you how many times the cart path has been my friend, enabling an exceptionally poor shot to bounce and roll on it’s merry way towards the hole. Hey any time one of my shots is not losing yardage, it’s merry.

And here’s the the view of The Chute from the tee. You can’t even see the green from here. It’s way behind the hill on the right.

I skipped a few holes and painted hole number 18, Safe Passage next. Simply because I love the bunker. Spent a bit of time there…

The rest of the course is in progress. I’ll have them all done just in time for my show at San Juan Oaks on Saturday, May 22nd. I’ll be there from 1:00 to 3:00 so stop on in the club house and say hello!

Meanwhile, I need to book a tee time. I feel a need to do more research for my work.
