When it comes to art, sometimes it helps to just stop thinking rationally at all, which is how I came up with the idea of a huge seashell with a girl on top of it. This mixed media piece was created using several mixed media and image transfer techniques to become a bright, happy, dimensional ocean-themed piece.
Bio: I’m an editor by day, a mixed media artist by night, making one original creative project a week for each week in 2011.

Technique & Style: Acrylic paint on gessobord. Poseable figure uses acetate and alcohol ink; seashell is an image transfer using gampi paper. Background texture was created using light modeling paste. Small boxes have sea-themed embellishments. And I added a little shine to the ocean and sky with pigment powder.
