Dooo Doo Doo Looking Out My Back Door

posted in: Art 8

I am completely inspired by the land just outside my back door! We live on Revis Mountain,  and the paintings below are from my back patio, looking west towards Lilley Mountain.

Best of Both Worlds
Best of Both Worlds, 16x 20,  $980
Eclipse 16 x 120 $980
Over The Line
Over The Line, 16 x 20 $980

My goal is to complete at least 12 pieces of scenes from my back patio. I find that it takes at least 12 to really get to know a subject. I’m having a blast and I’ve already noticed that  my color and strokes are getting bolder each painting I create. It will be interesting to see where I land.

Best of Both Worlds  was inspired by my new home. Up here the whole house and yard are my new studio! And I am so happy to be painting in my jammies again!

Eclipse   got it’s name because I forgot to watch the eclipse because I was so engrossed in my painting.

Over The Line got it’ s name as I heard the Brewer and Shipley song One Toke Over The Line  (in my minds ear) the entire time I was painting. I also felt that the color and looseness of the piece was  well, one toke over the line!

Each painting measures 16 x 20″ . If you are looking to collect an original, here’s how to contact me. They are only $980 and shipping is free in the continental U.S! Beautiful prints and cards are also available. Click here to have a look!

If your not sure where my series title came from, it’s a music reference too.  Here’s the Creedence Clearwater Revival song that inspired the series title. It makes me smile every time I hear it and I hope these paintings and the song make you smile as well 🙂
