I’ve a friend and collector who calls much of my palette-knife work “chewy.”  I feel this latest crop of sunflowers fits this description perfectly.

The first, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” started off as a demo for my Tuesday class.   I had a fun time during the demo and it shows!

All of these pieces were painted from the inside out, without a reference photo. I just placed color on the canvas and listened to my heart.

I call this first one “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” As soon as I saw it I thought of the Cyndi Lauper tune 🙂

The next three are quite a bit smaller in size but they pack a huge punch! And you should see how they look on pillows and duvet covers.  When you click on each image, you will be shown all the cool print options.

When I went to name each piece, a song came to mind so I decided to marry the two and give them all song title names.  Click the title  of the artwork, and you can hear the tune that goes with each painting.

    Hello Shannon:
Great seeing your vibrant sunflower paintings… They are simply gorgeous! I like that you use song titles to them also and the way it attaches to the actual sound of music with the song. The colors, of course, are perfect in these, as well. Happy Autumn and many many more blissful times in creativity!
