Paint Pouring With Sunrise Rotary: Creativity Ignited!

posted in: Art, Create! 0

On October 9th, Cassie Reyes and I put on an Acrylic Paint Pouring Workshop for the Sunrise Rotary of Madera at the Madera County Arts Council’s Circle Gallery.

Sunrise comes pretty early in Madera.  It was still dark when Cassie and I arrived at 5:00 a.m. to prep for the event.  The  Rotarians arrived at 6. Chris Miller made sure we had coffee, and Present Cindy Vail set up a nice breakfast so we were all raring to go by the time the event started.

During the business meeting, Cindy Vail presented the Madera County Arts Council with a check for $2000! The folks at Sunrise Rotary have been long-time supporters of the Arts Council, and their support was and is, greatly appreciated.

I gave a quick demo on how to pour, and they enthusiastically dove into the project.

What a great way to start the day! We had fun, all of the paintings were a success, and some folks even expressed an interest in taking up painting on their own.

I feel that my life is so much richer since I allowed my creative self to shine, and when I can share that joy with other folks, well it just doesn’t get any better than that.
